Naps

Well, none of these pictures actually show how Jude likes to nap nowadays, but he's so cute I'm showing them anyway. This first one is actually how he sleeps at night. I'm sure it is a coincidence, but the first night we let him sleep under his monster blanket he slept for almost 6 hours and last night it was almost 7! I like to think it was the monster blanket. Don't worry, it only covers his legs and bum at night.

This has only happened twice, and I think this particular time he woke up completely hysterical after discovering he was tricked into falling asleep in his stroller instead of his baby carrier, which happens to be the only way he will sleep more than an hour. Yesterday he slept in it for 2 and a half hours, and once it was 3. I guess it is a good way to get some exercise...

This was back in the good ol' days (like 2 weeks ago) when Jude would sleep such nice naps on the couch. He loved his monkey bum outfit from the mathetai girls, and requested I post the picture of his cute monkey bum. He also has almost completely done away with his receding hair line, but it is in full effect in the above picture. Enjoy now, you will have to wait 40 or more years to see it again.

Firsts

The life of a 2 month old is not yet marked by many firsts, though they are sure to come soon. Jude has had some unique first experiences though. Here he is during his first time helping Dad with accounting. He's a natural.

This, you can probably tell, is Jude's first time with a breast pad stuck to his head. Not all babies get to have this much fun...

Here he is during his first time in a stroller and his first time at Northbrook Court Mall. It also seems it might be his first time trying a latte.

This is Jude's first time he and Dad matched, and they didn't even plan it.

Uncle John helped Jude in his list of firsts by showing him the joys of laying on top of the bookshelf. First and last.

Cousins

As you can see, Jude had a great time visiting with his Grandparents and Aunt Laura! Briasson missed the party...but did get some good rest.

Jude's cousin Marin visited. This is one of the few pictures I have of them together. You can probably see why they weren't allowed to be near one another unsupervised...

Briasson and Jude have been having some good bonding sessions, though.

They especially bond over their shared love of sleeping on people.

This was the first time that the boys met. They weren't entirely sure what to make of the situation.

Family, Part 2

Jude doesn't really like to be swaddled, and fights it every time but eventually gives in. It always pays off because he sleeps well and looks so cute.

He got to spend lots of time visiting with Aunt Jillian and his little cousin in the hospital! Jude is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his baby cousin.

Right after he was born, Jude was wide awake for a few hours until Aunt Jenaeth managed to get him to sleep. He will forever remember his first nappy with her.

I'm not even entirely sure what to say about this picture. I didn't even know this happened.

Gjeme must have learned the art of putting the peanut to sleep from Jenaeth. Also, he is very lucky he didn't get wet because Jude wet through those pajamas almost every time he wore them.

Family, Part 1

Jude has been enjoying being able to spend lots of time with one side of his family, and is so excited about meeting his other grandparents in a few days!

He had the honor of waking his dad up from a nap, and has proven to be one of the few people that can wake dad up without making him mad.

He even got to nap on grandpa! This led to him leaking out of his diaper onto grandpa's shirt....twice.

He had the most wonderful time visiting with great-grandpa!

His grandma has been working very hard at letting other people hold Jude, although he never minds snuggling with her.

Jude met his uncle John almost immediately after he was born. It was Jenaeth that first got Jude to go to sleep though. And it was Aunt Jillian that first got him to start chatting! Those pictures are from a different camera, so they will be featured in the next post.

Jude is so excited about meeting his cousin Marin and Auntie Puff in a few weeks! He also is hoping to meet his Aunts Laura and Lindsay sometime very soon.

Jude Briasson!

Jude Briasson was born on January 12 at 2:42pm and is home and being the cute little peanut that he is! He was 7lb 8oz.

He is still getting used to being swaddled, so he often tries to sneak his hands out. This particular time he only managed a single finger. You may also notice if you look carefully a patch of bed head. That's what happens when you have such long locks.

All the socializing in the hospital was very tiring for the little man.

Jude left the hospital as fashionable as ever. Also, he was content as ever.

We have also found that striking a pose is something that came naturally to the little peanut.

Much like his time in the belly, Jude still loves having his hands up by his face. Although we have had to hide them for night time sleeping because they have proven to be quite the distraction.

Babymoon!

We were able to spend last weekend in Chicago on a mini babymoon! The Bean enjoyed the getaway almost as much as we did.
And yes, Easten, the bean met the bean.
Our hotel was beautiful and they switched our room so we could have a view!
Unfortunately, Chicago hasn't learned that we take it one holiday at a time. But we did get to see them unwrapping the giant Christmas tree.
